oh and hobbit I do know that your machine makes a dif. A guy with a top gaming machine with a large monitor and full res CAN see alot better than most. I cant see nuts cause of my comp being a pos, but I have played this game on a top of the line machine once and it was a huge eye opener. If I had a top gaming machine that shot wouldnt be nothing as I could easily see ya and shoot ya as the res and monitor size makes a big dif. All it takes even on my comp is a quick binoc to see, then guide using hitsounds. np as a sten in crouch has a very small spread compared to any other gun. I have a link somewhere that compares gun spreads in et if ur interested....fyi crouch shooting with a gun in et narrows the bullet spread hence high acc...

Uhm Deathmachine, that is why you are wrong. For several reasons:
1) We didn't have hitsounds back then so he had no idea he was hitting me...but he killed me flawlessly. First time I swam straight, ok he killed me. The next 2 times I swam behind the rocks and he still killed me. Binocs are not THAT powerful, give it a try and you'll see. Even with binocs a player in the water looks like a dot.
2) I have a 21" monitor when I play. So I already can see pretty well. Still can't see the d*mned swimmers. Only person that can see them somewhat is a sniper with the magnification turned up. Everybody else can use binocs but no way can he see and time the binocs well enough to get that kind of accuracy to the water. It's already pretty hard using binocs and then shoot at a standing player, a moving player is much harder to determine once you turn off binocs.
3) Crouching does not remove the spread, it lessens the spread. And, of course the spread is better when you crouch, but if you read my post above, the guy was STANIDING on the cliff. He was dodging other players bullets while shooting at me.
But heck, I may be wrong. Perhaps you can get on Lemmings and give it a try yourself if you don't believe me. And since you can't shoot as well as that cheater, I'll even accept your keeping the hitsounds on and try it. Just record the demos. Good luck!

didnt know u didnt have hitsounds at the time, without them I would have to agree it would be very hard to do so as hitsounds make long distance shots alot easier. What I meant about the binocs, I use them to spot peeps then hitsounds to guide the shots from long distance. I personally am just ok from long range, I do know from experience that on a great machine with full res its much easier to see targets, unfortuantely mines a pos lol...a little old 866mhz...But ya without hitsounds i couldnt have done it either. Not a chance cause i cant see nothing on this computer long range and without sounds to guide I wouldnt get the kill. fyi this is also a small monitor (13inch i think) and my settings are only 800by600 without all the extras and a 39dollar vid card lol.

Thanks for your objective posts Deathmachine. It's always good to get some outside opinion regarding the game. Yeah, I used to have a smaller monitor, that 15" had about 14" viewable...made the game quite hard...but when you get used to it, it makes you a much better shot when you get a larger screen Hopefully you can get a snazzy computer in the future. whoa whoa you guys are completely leaving me out...whoever has been on blitz knows that Yes, insane Sten headshots on insane distances are possible. I used to pick off people from the hill all the way inside the house with my sten. And a screenie shows my 39%, 91 kills, 162 headshots, All sten. Honestly, make sure to watch the person very very very carefully, otherwise you might be kicking a very good player.

Yup, I've heard about your legendary stenwork Maya....heheh then you can take up the challenge for all the sten lovers. When you get a chance, play as Axis on Battery and snipe out the swimming players in the water with your sten. It's that cliff right by the primary Axis spawn. Please record it and post it here Hobbit

Okay, I really have to say a few things here about the guy who went ranting and raving, calling people 'moron' and saying that there's no such thing as a speed hack. Hopefully, you learned your lesson.
By acting like an immature child, being shown wrong just made you look like an idiot. If you would have been more civil and acted accordingly, by saying instead "I'm not sure if there is such a thing as a speed hack but it might be worth looking into" and "Perhaps we should be wary of making accusations of cheating on the basis of high accuracy alone", or something to that effect, you would not be looking so foolish as you do now.
My point basically is that be cool, nice, and civil: it goes a long way. Although you might think that being such an A-hole is the cool thing to do (after watching too much MTV), it really isn't. If you got something to say, keep in mind other people and be nice.
As for the cheaters: you fellas need to restitch your moral fiber cuz it's looking mighty thin. If you don't have the integrity to play honestly and fairly, you really need to get yourself checked.

If I may suggest some things here. Before banning, be very sure. Use the Demo method, and record the player, then view it on your screem using the /shownormals command to view the game as the particular player you are interested in would see the game(change this setting back before re-entering the game, pb will kick you for it!!!)
One thing you have to keep in mind with some players, is that they might play etpro only, a competition mod. It is not so easy to gain XP, nor advance in a map on a good etpro server. The game is much tougher. I personally run such a server, encourage spawn killing/camping, have FF turned on, etc.
When I started playing this game, I found shrub to be the most fun mod, and then later on, as shrub faded into the distance, pub became my favorite mod. After a while, I began looking for a more competitive game. Take all the fancy mods like 2jump out of the equation, and let's make it a war! My game has improved 10fold since switching to etpro, and going "pubbing" for a night here and there.... it's not to hard to get 20+man killing sprees. I could not do the same on etpro.
I have not used, nor will ever use a cheat script of any kind. I think they're for pansies who can't let go of mamma's skirt, personally. If you have to cheat at a game, it isn't a game anymore. Games were meant to be fun.
My point to this is, be sure they are cheating, and not just simply better than your best.

I think it is fair to say that the admins on LU (and on our server, TITs) know a fair bit about how to spot a hack.
I cannot talk for the LU admins but on TITs, if we are unsure if someone is cheated, the suspect is normally specced and demoed, the demo is the reviewed by at least 2 admins before a ban is given.
However, it is not always possible to demo and review before a ban and a player may get banned on suspicion. The player is then welcome to question the ban and if the demo is inconclusive, the ban will be revoked.
I appreciate your comment about ETpro but with the number of servers available you have to ask yoursself why a "1337" player would want to come to ETPub server and pwn everyone? Not only does it not make sense as the player would have no challenge (other than trying to beat his previous "noob"-killing record) but it also spoils the game for the poor sods who is getting their arse handed to them. This of course does not mean that they should be banned for being "1337" but sometimes a kick is definitely called for. Just because you run a pub it does not mean that you have to welcome everybody.

As a game player, I like to enjoy all aspects of any game. Granted, your server, your rules, and agreed, you don't have to welcome everyone, but I think banning a player simply because he's pwning everyone should only make those getting pwnd rise up, formulate a better strategy, and nail the sucker!.
I started with shrub, and then pub, and moved onto pro to fine tune my skills. Believe me, I'm no 1337 player yet, and may never be. I still get my tail-side handed to me on a platter by a number of better players, and don't mind one bit. It's just a game.

yeh what road warrior is saying is a fair point, if some people dont wanna leanr more about the game, then yeh, thye might not lik getting "pwned", but i can speak of my personal experiences, that goin up against skilled opposition really improves ure aim alot rather than fragging with people of your same skill level
but yeh, your server, your rules

well im playing for fun like all the other ladies, and i dont give a shit about my aim. but of course if you wanna improve your aim with an other mod go ahead. just remember the /killing is a firefight (what happens allot on pro servers) is NOT allowed here and when you do it a cou;le of times and ignoring the warnings you will get kicked.
